ALAN TOBACK

Alan ... a man with endearing dreams ... has reached the young age of 67, but has lived a lifetime.  He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y on July 12, 1939, youngest of 2 other siblings. While growing up he dabbled in writing poetry, bored with basic elementary school tasks. He never felt grabbed by schoolwork, so he left at age 16.  Later on in mature life, he now realizes what he missed.  He has gone through a stroke, many after mini-strokes, and diabetes now set in. Nevertheless, the passion of ‘writing’ gets his mind into happiness and fulfillment.

His work published in Shadow poetry’s anthology, Literati journal, and Passages in Time anthology by JMW Publishing Co., on Apollo’s Lyre. Com and

Thoughtcafe.com, just to name a few.  At this time, Alan is also working on a full-length novel, a romance-suspense story.  His inspiration is, and has been, his charming, adorable wife Mary.  Alan is a very caring, sensitive, loving man.  He writes in free verse style because the words come straight from his heart.

Alan has now moved on also, to writing some flash fiction as well as some religious poetry.

MARSHALL TURNER

E. Marshall Turner, Jr.

President, Turner Technology, Inc.

Creator of WebforAuthors.com

Marshall’s passion is making technology useful. Useful technology meets a need, makes a task easier and accomplishes a goal. It is not technical or arcane, but focused on improving, simplifying and communicating.

His approach is grounded in his education and business experience. After earning an undergraduate degree in business, he joined Burroughs Corporation (now Unisys), one of the world’s leading technology companies.  In 1997 he founded Turner Technology, a technology consulting company that manages enterprise projects and develops websites. Along the way he earned a MBA from the Goizueta Business School of Emory University.

In 2004, Marshall created and launched WebforAuthors.com. He envisioned WebforAuthors as an affordable service focused on providing web-based tools for authors. With WebforAuthors, an author’s website can easily be created and updated. Specifically designed for authors and writers, it includes advanced tools that authors need such as mailing lists, email newsletters, a guestbook, the ability to sell books online and more.

His expertise in the internet and websites is often shared as a speaker at writer’s conference and in articles. He has presented at conferences such as WriteStuff Writers’ Conference, Yosemite Writers Conference, SCWW Writer’s Workshop Conference and the Indianapolis Book Fest. He has written articles for authors that appear on WebforAuthors and Backspace.

When not working on WebforAuthors, Marshall enjoys reading books on early American life, kayaking, camping and running.

JAN VERHOEFF

Author of EASTER MENU & RECIPE COOKBOOK,REAL AUTO MAINTENANCE FOR REAL PEOPLE

Lights, camera, action! Focus on life, as Jan Verhoeff, creator of the Breken Ridge Adventure Series does and youve got all the action you need to fill up three or four books. Inspired by her not-yet-teenaged boys, Jan began to understand the need for books that related to children of single parent homes when her own sons delved into the Hardy Boys Mystery Books and came up wondering how it would be if their father were a Detective. With big sis, criminal justice major, Brenna Verhoeff in the mix, it wasnt a big jump to move directly into writing the mystery-detective style novel the boys loved.

Jan's history of business writing, psychology, and techno-jargon set the stage while she continued to pursue goals of business development and promotion. Power-driven action based writing continues to be her direct style. A copywriter with more than 20 years of experience marketing business prototypes, Jan's understanding of life as a single parent and children presents fascinating reading.

Many of their adventures found resources in education as Jan taught her children about life and living through home schooling. Tatia, Sean, and Kenton weave their webs of intrigue daily inspiring their mother's latest tales.

Jan's work promotes family, achievement, and integrity with strong family relationships as a foundation. You won't want to miss a thrilling moment of her version of life on the Ridge.

Currently available books can be found at

DAVE WEBB

A fit of mischief landed J. D. (Dave) Webb in a high school creative writing class as punishment.  It sparked a writing interest and also increased the tendency toward mischief.  A lifetime dream was finally realized when a shutdown of Dave's shoe repair business in 2001 forced early retirement.  So Dave, the short story writer, became J. D. Webb, the novelist.

J. D. Webb hits a bull's-eye with his new novel Shepherd's Pie out October 1, 2006.  Here's what one reviewer says:
Meet Mike Shepherd, Chicago's pie-loving P. I., whose on-again, off-again relationship with lady friend Diana rivals that of Spenser and Susan.  When former cop Mike's longtime nemesis, madman Ferlin Husky Lewis, kidnaps Diana with murderous intent, the chase is on,”but just who's chasing whom?  The action never lets up in a pulse-pounding game of cat and mouse as Lewis toys with his prey and wrecks havoc with Mike's colleagues and neighbors.

Watch for his next page-turner Moon Over Chicago due out March 1, 2007 from  http://www.wings-press.com/
Amateur sleuth and cobbler Fulton Moon (yes, his nickname is Full Moon) encounters beautiful and sinister Lucinda Mathews.  Lucy, wife of prominent florist Arthur Mathews, wants to escape an abusive husband and Moon only wants to help.  It isn't that simple.  Helping results in muggings, kidnapping, blackmail and, oh yes, even murder.
Moon's adoptive father and mentor Benjamin Franklin Washington, proudly African-American, provides guidance, but no matter which way Moon, a devout Caucasian, turns, it's the wrong way.  And Benjie lets him know.

Visit http://www.jdwebb.com/ for more information and a free read of chapter one.  And while you're there download some free e-books.  I'll even tell you how to get more.
